Building Effective Slides for Your Presentation

In the previous chapter, you learned how to create a presentation and how to add slides to it. In this chapter, I'll show you how to create slides that convey your meaning clearly and powerfully to your audience.

Before you start creating your slides, it helps to plan which slides the presentation will contain and develop an idea of each slide's content. We'll touch on this first, and then examine which of PowerPoint's built-in slide layouts suits which type of content. Any time none of the built-in layouts is suitable, you can create your own custom layouts.
