The Link command lets you weave your own Web of connections between Entourage items. You might use it to connect, for example, someone in your address book to a specific calendar event and to all of the messages sent to and from that person regarding that calendar event, and to your notes of topics to discuss with that person face-to-face.

POWER USERS’ CLINIC: Saved Searches

After you perform a search, the results appear in a search results list. If you click the Save button in the Search bar, you save the search itself, enabling you to repeat the same search over and over without the work setting up your search criteria again.

For example, you could set up a saved search that rounds up only the messages that are less than a week old, from your mentor, with a subject line pertaining to your current project.

To save a search, perform a search, and then click the Save button in the Search bar. A Save Search window appears. Name your search (“Laughter yoga,” for example) and click Save. Your search now appears with its own icon in the Mail Views folder at the bottom of the folder list.

Entourage comes with a handful of prefab Saved Search Items—such as messages received today and high priority messages. You can edit or delete saved searches by control-clicking (or right-clicking) them in the folder list and making your choice from the pop-up menu. When you edit a saved search, Entourage reopens the search bars at the top of the list window.
