Summary

You should now be able to create your own modules by extending the existing ones.

To demonstrate how to do this, we extended the To-Do module we created in the previous chapter, adding new features to the several layers that make up an application.

We extended an Odoo model to add new fields and extended its business logic methods. Next, we modified the views to make the new fields available to them. Finally, we learned how to inherit features from other models and use them to add the social network features to the To-Do app.

The first three chapters gave us an overview of the common activities involved in Odoo development, from Odoo installation and setup to module creation and extension.
