Installing the Oracle Database software

Having reviewed the prerequisite considerations for an Oracle Database installation, we're now ready to step through the process. We've already noted that the Oracle Universal Installer attempts to make the installation process as similar as possible between different operating systems. However, there are key differences, and we will note them as we move ahead in the chapter. Most of the screens we'll present are done from an installation of Oracle 11g Release 2, v11.2.0.1, on the Red Hat Linux operating system.
