2.1.1 Introduction

Work on object-oriented development projects requires all developers to share a common understanding of the basic terms relating to object orientation. In this respect, the authors of this book have a different conception from those of method books.1 In addition, relying on an object-oriented programming language won’t help either since various languages implement the concepts more or less cleanly.
