Camera Hi-hat
Applications
While a beanbag is excellent for very low mounts, it’s not secure enough when a high camera position is required. Raising a tripod can be difficult and cumbersome, and since most high shots are only brief walk-ins or other snippets, creating a raised tripod platform is usually overkill. However, going hand-held has its own disadvantages including possible shake, inability to lock down a position (for blue screen or camera matching), and general camera safety. The hi-hat mount (see figure 8-1) solves all these problems.
