Chapter 16. Managing Your Contacts

AMONG YOUR NOOK HD’S many tricks is its ability to keep track of all your contacts, including family, friends, and coworkers.

While having your contacts on your NOOK HD is a useful feature, there’s a more important reason for having them in your NOOK—your Contacts list integrates with NOOK Friends, Facebook, and email. So even if you don’t plan to use your NOOK HD’s Contacts app on its own, it pays to know how to use it just for those features. Whatever your reason, this chapter tells you everything you need to know about contacts on the NOOK.

Getting Started with Contacts

First things first: To launch the Contacts app, press the NOOK button, tap Apps, and then tap Contacts. If you’ve already set up an email account or linked to Facebook, your contacts will already be there waiting for you.

But if you haven’t done any of that yet, you’ll come to a screen that asks you to either create a contact, sign into an email account, or import or export contacts from storage. (You’ll see how to create a new contact later in this chapter, on Importing Facebook Contacts.) Your best bet is to sign into an email account, because your contacts will then get imported en masse and will be kept in sync.
