insertion point

When you click the I-beam in text, it sets a flashing bar known as the insertion point. The insertion point indicates where text will appear when you start to type and where a graphic will appear when you insert it.

italic

A style of type where the letters slant to the right. True-drawn italics do not simply slant—they have been completely redesigned.
