About the Author

Michelle Segar is a behavioral sustainability and motivation scientist and Director of the University of Michigan’s Sport, Health, and Activity Research and Policy (SHARP) Center. She also chairs the U.S. National Physical Activity Plan’s Communications Committee, advising the Plan on new strategies for the American public and policy makers. Her comprehensive training includes a Ph.D. in Psychology and master’s degrees in Health Behavior/Health Education (MPH) and Kinesiology (MS) from the University of Michigan.
