Learning is an essential ingredient in preparedness. It is also a lifelong pursuit. Leaders prepare themselves and their organizations for success by embracing and enhancing their ability to learn.

MacArthur was one of the lucky ones. The love of learning caught fire within him while he was still a schoolboy. He quite eloquently described the transformation it engendered in his attitude toward his studies:
