Why did I write this book? In the late 1980s, I began making my transition from dentistry to financial planning. I had already written one book and coauthored another. But back then, I was principally a financial and retirement planning teacher—simply giving advice to my fellow health professionals on “how to retire.”

There is a big difference between telling someone how to do something and doing it yourself.
