John D. Spooner is one of the very few investment advisor/novelists in America. His best-selling nonfiction includes Do You Want to Make Money or Would You Rather Fool Around?, Confessions of a Stockbroker, Smart People, and Sex and Money. His novels include Class and The Foursome. His articles appear in magazines such as Playboy, Town and Country, the Atlantic, Esquire, Time, and the Boston Globe. His latest book, No One Ever Told Us That: Money and Life Letters to My Grandchildren, has been a Boston Globe number one best seller, and number two on Amazon.com's best-selling business books list, and has been published in Korea, Japan, and China.

Spooner has been a director of the Atlantic and David R. Godine, Publisher, and has been a member of the Massachusetts Cultural Council, which distributes all arts funding for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. He has been honored with the Literary Lights Award, bestowed on New England's most distinguished authors by the Boston Public Library.

A managing director for investments at a leading Wall Street firm, Spooner was also the creator of A Book for Boston, in honor of the city's three hundred fiftieth birthday.
