The Web-active end user

ABSTRACT

In this chapter we present our work that has led to the idea of the Web-active end user – individuals who actively seek and adopt new technologies and try to make the most of what the Web has to offer. Using the context of mashups-a type of Web application that combines different data into one interface-we explore how these users take advantage of the Web. We examine some of their ideas about online information and detail their use of a mashup tool.
