Chapter 3. Adobe Photoshop
Mastering the night image is a matter of understanding the characteristics of the nocturnal scene, and the role Adobe Photoshop plays in its enhancement. Because no matter how well your digital camera captures a subject at night, the image is not complete until it gets at least a tweak in Photoshop. This need for editing is in part because of the physics of digital capture, but mostly because night scenes tend to be plagued by a series of minor defects that collectively weaken the image. Over dominant colorcasts, tilted horizons, and out-of-range light ratios wreak havoc on the photograph.
