8.7 MMS AND SMIL

MMS uses its own method of presentation, which can include the use of WML, but more commonly involves the use of an alternative markup language called Synchronised Multimedia Integration Language, which is abbreviated SMIL and pronounced as ‘smile’. Discussion of this technology is deferred until Chapter 13 on location-based services wherein we discuss the use of MMS within the LBS context (although the explanation of MMS technology is general and not specific to LBS).
