3.11 CONCLUSION

In conclusion, the trends in digital services and technology are already combining across multiple channels to enable new modes of user experience. These modes in the mobile world are perhaps unknown or speculative, but they are still inevitable; thus, forcing operators to become an Operator 2.0. I don't have a concrete definition for what an Operator 2.0 looks like, but most of this chapter has outlined a set of trends and actions that can drive the creation of Operator 2.0 templates. There will be more than one of course. Some will fail and some will succeed. Innovation remains a key factor, which means the ability to understand the trends, understand the new technological possibilities, and understand new ways of thinking about value in an IP world and then converting this into compelling user experiences. The challenge is to do this in an agile fashion. It is not easy, but the types of services possible are tremendously exciting and undoubtedly lucrative for someone.
