- Zero Configuration (Zeroconf)
A handy network protocol that can be used on very small networks where security is not a concern. Zeroconf provides the ability to allocate IP addresses automatically to every computer and can even translate computer names to IP addresses.
- zone database files
Shared databases containing hostnames and corresponding IP addresses that are used by DNS servers to resolve queries.
- zone transfer
The process of sharing the changes or additions to zone database files across multiple DNS servers in a network.
