Office 365 is a collection of cloud-based services offered by Microsoft to users of its recent versions of Microsoft Office. Although you can still purchase boxed versions of Microsoft Office, many users and organizations are now opting for Microsoft’ subscription-based Office 365 service. For a monthly fee, you get the privilege of using Office applications, plus additional features of the Office 365 cloud service.

In this chapter, I present the basics of how Office 365 works and how you, as a site administrator, can manage your company’s Office 365 assets. These management features are not available to home users; you need a Business, Academic, Non-Profit, or Enterprise license to use the administration tools described in this chapter.
