Introduction

Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) is so dominant that it warrants its own chapter. In fact, numerous chapters in this book in addition to this one also provide coverage of the many aspects of TCP/IP. This chapter deals with TCP/IP as a protocol suite, and Chapter 13, “Troubleshooting Connectivity,” deals mainly with the troubleshooting aspects of TCP/IP.
