Network support includes utilities for monitoring and troubleshooting the network.

TCP/IP Utilities

ping is a command-line utility designed to test connectivity between systems on a TCP/IP-based network. Following are guidelines for using ping:

  • You can ping the IP address of the local loopback adapter, by using the command ping 127.0.0.1. If this command is successful, you know that the TCP/IP protocol suite is installed correctly on your system and functioning.
