Firewall rules for internal LAN networks

Now that you understand how to create, edit, and delete firewall rules, let's go ahead and create some meaningful firewall rules for LAN1. 

In the previous example, we added some firewall rules and cleaned them up. Now there are no rules, allowing any type of traffic on LAN1. Let's confirm that by switching to the Windows 7 machine:

As you can see, ping requests are getting blocked here. Now let's go ahead and add a new firewall rule to allow LAN1 for ICMP, which in turn should allow these ping requests to go through.
