An Introduction to Authorization

Authorization is the process through which users or devices are given controlled access to network resources. Authorization lets a network administrator control who can do what on the network. It can also be used to do such things as assign specific IP addresses to users connecting through a PPP service, to force users to use a certain type of service to connect, or to configure advanced features such as callback.
