Summary

VPNs are one of the most critical network security tool. The reason for their widespread use is the rapid expansion in reliance on the networking resources available within corporate networks. The need for these resources to be accessible to remote users, home users, remote offices, partners, and others has fueled the growth of VPNs. Although VPNs can be set up in quite a few different ways, the primary goals are the same: seamless connectivity and maintenance of the security of the networks participating in the VPN.
