Interface Names and FlowViewer

Flows manage interfaces by index number, but humans use the interface name. If you tell FlowViewer the name associated with each interface number, it'll offer those names as an option in the web interface. If you create the file NamedInterfaces_Devices in the FlowViewer directory, FlowViewer will populate the Interface Names drop-down in the filter section of all three tools with information from the file.

Each line in the NamedInterfaces_Devices file contains three entries:

exporter name:SNMP index:human-friendly name

For example, my main router's gigabit uplink is at SNMP index 5. The entry for this interface might look like this:

core-4:5:Gigabit Ethernet 1/0 - uplink
