16.5. Test a Proof of Concept

This section and the two following sections are outlined more completely in Chapter 11. You can do proof of concept testing with one or more vendors, but if you do test with more than one vendor, you probably want to keep that list to a minimum because these tests, when executed properly, can take up a lot of both your and the vendor's time. The goal of this test is to deploy parts of the solution in a test environment so that you can ensure it works with your network and can deliver on the marketing that the vendor's sales organization has been feeding you.
