18.9. Microsoft Network Access Protection

Network Access Protection (NAP) is Microsoft's version of their NAC architecture. NAP relies on a Microsoft NAP client installed on each endpoint and offers a variety of enforcement points. Enforcement includes 802.1X-enabled switching infrastructure, VPN servers, DHCP servers, and several other enforcement points.

NAP offers an extended ecosystem of partners and partner integrations that can increase the value of NAP to Microsoft's customers.
