17.3. IETF NEA

The Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) is a widely recognized and supported standards body that has developed a majority of the standards used on the Internet today. One of the emerging groups within the IETF is NEA — Network Endpoint Assessment. Although NEA hasn't yet published its official specifications as of the writing of this book, you can find draft publications at the IETF Web address in this section.

Although the NEA competes with Trusted Network Connect (which we talk about in the preceding section), the NEA drafts are based entirely on TNC specifications. Hopefully, everyone can get along in this crazy, mixed-up world!
