How to do it...

  1. Open the terminal.
  2. Now in your home directory or any other directory type the following command and press Enter:
      $ dotnet new sln -o Chapter3 -n Chapter3.LogFile
  1.  Now, change to the newly created directory, using the following command:
      $ cd Chapter3
  1. Now you are inside the root of your solution. Let's create the .NET Standard library project using the following command:
      $ dotnet new classlib -o Chapter3.LogFile.LogLib
  1. Now that we have created our Class Library Project, let's open the whole solution using Visual Studio Code.
  2. Type the following command in the terminal and press Enter:
      $ code .
  1. The previous command will open Visual Studio Code in the current directory and the IDE should look like this:
