Implementing communication between an ASPX page and a Silverlight application

Silverlight applications are hosted in the ASPX pages through the Silverlight plugin. The plugin is embedded using the <object> tag, due to which we can pass data between an ASPX page and the application using JavaScript. To make Silverlight applications JavaScript-aware, some extra steps are required at the development stage. In this recipe we will see what those steps are, and how to enable ASPX pages to communicate with Silverlight using those steps.
