Summary

In this chapter, we learned what the cloud is and why the modern-day developer should be conversant with cloud technologies. We also got started with Azure, and made ourselves aware of the Azure management portal. We learned to create a virtual machine from the portal and saw that this could be automated using PowerShell or other languages by using the SDK. We then managed a virtual machine using PowerShell and saw how to start and stop it. We also learned how to create a web app in Azure from Visual Studio 2017 itself and learned about publish profiles. We took an overview of App Services, and a quick look at Azure storage.
