What Is Training Needs Assessment?

Simply put, training needs assessment is the process of identifying how training can help your organization reach its goals. It has been referred to as “the art and science of finding the right problems and understanding them fully” (Zemke & Kramlinger, 1982). It’s interesting that the words “training” or “skills” or “learning” do not appear in that definition.
