Nutritional Supplements

Even though nutritious foods supply the vitamins and minerals the body needs to function normally, they don’t contain everything the body needs to prevent and cure disease. Table B-1 lists numerous nutritional supplements that are useful in preventing and treating a host of common health issues. I list the common uses for each supplement and what you need to watch out for. Note that, unless otherwise noted, the supplement is taken orally.
