One of the improvements that does not fit into any of the above sections is the parameter use_timezone (page 606), with which you can set the time zone independently of the time zone set on the Nagios server. This is only necessary if several Nagios instances are running on a single machine.
The parameter additional_freslmess_latency (see Appendix A) delays freshness checks (see 13.4 Reacting to Out-of-Date Information of Passive Checks, page 295), normally using a time period specified in seconds, in case Nagios has to wait too long for a result for passive checks.
