Updating MySQL

When MySQL was first released publicly, it was at version 3.11.1. It's now in the version 3.22 series for stable releases and the 3.23 series for development releases. The stable release series is always one minor number behind the development series. After 3.23 becomes stable, work will begin on using 3.24 as the development series. The MySQL developers apparently work without sleep, so updates appear fairly often (several times a year). Updates are issued for both the stable and development series.
