2. Performance Monitoring Options
The preceding chapter discussed how essential it is to follow a well-defined, scientific process when analyzing your MySQL environment. Luckily, many automated tools, reports, and monitors are available that you can use to make your performance analysis and testing as productive and accurate as possible.
This chapter looks at two classes of performance monitoring utilities. The first section reviews MySQL’s own utilities, logs, and reports; the second section surveys operating system–specific tools.
