13. Security and Access Control

As a MySQL administrator, you are responsible for keeping databases secure so data can be accessed by only those who have the proper authorization. To accomplish this goal, you must maintain the security and integrity of your MySQL installation. Chapter 12, “General MySQL Administration,” already touched on a security-related topic; namely, the importance of assigning passwords to MySQL accounts.
