10.8. Tools and Approaches

Suffice it to say here that due diligence in automating scripts and performing data testing is time-consuming in and of itself. Indeed, even the scripting approaches themselves benefit from automation. In terms of tools and approaches, I believe that the most valuable insight provided by this chapter surrounds coding practices, tips, and tricks that either improve this automation or reduce errors. To that end, the sample scripts included or discussed in this chapter illustrate much of what we have discussed herein. Although written for AT1, each script nonetheless provides an excellent source of technique that should be useful for creating scripts written for other scripting tools or load testing suites.
