Chapter 5. Staffing the Testing and Tuning Team (T3)

Although stress testing and performance tuning is very much focused on technical and business process matters, it is not replete without an appropriately organized and staffed team structure. That is, at a fundamental level, certain activities must first be addressed by a team leader or manager, just to support the actual work of stress testing and performance tuning. Some of these core activities are as follows:

  • Identify project/team requirements and goals

  • Based on goals, determine whether a project-or support-based structure is most appropriate, and then define the project/team structure
