With each level of stress testing described previously comes a specific set of tools and approaches. Level One tools range in variety the most, from simple utilities that test the throughput of hardware devices, like network cards and disk controllers, to fullfledged testing suites that help you characterize individual subsystems across the hardware and software technology stacks.
