In chapter 9, we discussed the importance of creating operating agreements. In this chapter, we will look at specific guidelines for doing this successfully. The strategy of operating agreements is involving others in the methodology of how things will be done. It is giving others a stake in their environment, an opportunity to be listened to, and personal responsibility and accountability for their own commitments.

Operating agreements can be created with individuals and collectively with groups. They involve identifying methods for interaction that enhance productivity and efficiency.
