About the Author

Laura Acklen has authored and co-authored more than 20 Que titles covering Microsoft Windows and the Microsoft Office applications. She has ridden the technology wave from the early days of desktop computers and Windows 3.1 in the mid-90s, to the newest handheld devices and the recently released Windows 10, 30 years later.

While experienced in writing reference books, Laura especially likes writing to the beginner and intermediate level user. She enjoys demystifying what might seem like an intimidating topic—by breaking it down into short, simple, step-by-step lessons. Her friendly, conversational tone makes any task seem less daunting.
