Transferring Video to Your Macintosh

If you have video stored on a mobile phone or camcorder, the first stepis to transfer that video to your Macintosh. Most devices connect to a Macintosh through a cable that plugs into a port, such as the USB port.

You can import video into iMovie from three sources:

  • A video camcorder or mobile phone

  • The built-in webcam

  • Files on your hard disk, USB flash drive, or other external storage device
