Searching for a Name (and Other Information)

After you’ve stored some names and contact information, you can easily search for any information stored in Address Book. For example, if you want to find a person by name, you can search for that person’s name. If you want to find someone who lives in Idaho, you can search for all contact information that contains the word Idaho.

You don’t even need to type a complete word because as you type, Address Book starts matching all the cards that contain the information you’ve typed so far. So if you start typing Id to search for Idaho, Address Book will show you a list of cards that contain the word Idaho as well as Idiot and Idiom.
