Uninstalling Software

The Macintosh makes uninstalling software as simple as dragging a file or folder icon into the Trash. Here's how to uninstall a program:

  1. Click the Finder icon on the Dock. A Finder window appears.

  2. Click the Applications folder in the left pane of the Finder window. The contents of the Applications folder appear in the right pane.

  3. Move the mouse over the program file or folder and drag it over the Trash icon on the Dock. (You can also click a program file or folder and then select FileMove to Trash.)

    Note

Make sure you really want to uninstall a program before you trash it! Once you dump the Trash, it's not coming back.
