Chapter 33. Typing Foreign Languages

Since people read and write in different languages, you may need to write in languages as diverse as Arabic and Vietnamese (or dozens of other languages) on your Macintosh. While languages such as French and Italian use some of the same characters used in English, languages such as Japanese and Korean do not.

Fortunately, your Macintosh lets you type special characters, such as é or ë, or completely foreign characters, such as . Best of all, you can type these characters and words in practically any text-based program.
