How do I plan for success?

A simple overview of a new business involves the following stages:

  1. Come up with business idea
  2. Make it
  3. Work out how to sell it
  4. Launch!
  5. Promote it
  6. You sell your offering for more than it cost you to make
  7. Customers buy it and give you money
  8. You keep some profit, and put some back into the business

This is a very simplistic view of how a business works. To simplify it further, business is selling things for a higher price than it costs you to make them, and finding someone to buy at that price and thus making a profit.
