Determining the Overall Values for the Alternatives

This section brings together the material from all of the preceding sections and shows how to conduct a multiobjective decision analysis using a spreadsheet. Using a spreadsheet is beneficial because it organizes the information being used in the decision analysis, reduces the chance of errors resulting from carrying out the calculations by hand, and facilitates quick sensitivity analyses. The decision analysis presented in this section does not involve uncertainty; however, conducting multiobjective decision analyses under uncertainty will be presented in Chapter 6. The implementation of this multiobjective decision analysis is shown in Figures 3.7 (layout) and 3.8 (formulas).
