Remarks for Both 6PE and 6VPE

Following are some remarks that apply equally well to the 6PE and 6VPE solutions.

Route Reflectors

You can implement route reflectors (RR) for both 6PE and 6VPE. 6PE needs an address-family IPv6 under the router bgp process on the RRs. You must also configure the send-label keyword on the neighbor commands toward the route reflector clients. For the 6VPE solution, you need to configure the address-family vpnv6 under the router bgp process on the RRs. The send-label keyword is not needed for the iBGP neighbors because sending a label with the vpnv6 prefix is the default behavior for iBGP sessions.
