15.2. Test Methods

The verification tests basically were carried out applying the test methods described in Recommendations ITU-R BT.500 [BT500] and ITU-T P.910 [P910]. In some cases, slight modifications to the standard test procedures were applied, to improve the reliability of test results; in other cases, important modifications were introduced, to properly evaluate new MPEG-4 functionalities. In the latter case, these modifications were proposed to the ITU groups in charge of developing subjective test methodology; they were included in the above-mentioned recommendations.
