Chapter 15. Electronic Mail
Getting email flowing in an organization involves the following components. On the server end, the basic components are a mail transport agent (MTA) and a local delivery agent (LDA). The client side consists primarily of a mail user agent (MUA), which usually, but not always, lives on the user's PC. Later in this book, I'll cover two of the most popular email packages for the Linux desktop: Kmail and Evolution. For the remainder of this chapter, I'm going to concentrate on what you need to do to implement electronic mail on the server side.
